Our easy-to-use website allows you to search and locate the perfect spot on the beach, at the lake, in the mountains or under the big city lights! Whether you are planning an active vacation or a relaxing weekend getaway – mimbeo.com makes it easy!
Step 1: Search & Contact
Start out on our homepage by clicking the state or country you will be visiting (or select a category on the right side of this page). mimbeo.com always recommends that you contact every vacation rental that you are interested in renting – don’t limit yourself to only one rental.
You will see a contact form on the right side of every individual vacation rental page on mimbeo.com. Go ahead and ask any questions you have – and don’t forget to request availability for your dates of travel. Be sure to include your correct email address and a phone number where you can be reached by the owner or manager. Above the contact form, you will see the owner/manager’s phone number. You can call the owner/manager directly if you prefer.
Step 2: Make Reservation
It is standard practice for vacation rental owners and managers to require a reservation and/or damage deposit (10%-50% of total rent) at the time of reservation. All deposits and fees should be clearly stated in a written vacation rental agreement.
mimbeo.com highly recommends that you make your payment (including deposit) with a credit card or paypal. Payment options will vary from rental to rental – so be sure to ask if they accept your preferred payment method. Never pay using a wire transfer, western union, a money order, cashier’s check or cash. Use common sense and your intuition when setting up your vacation rental.
Step 3: Vacation Rental Agreement
The vacation rental owner/manager should send you a rental agreement covering your specified dates, refund policies, cancellation policies, pet policies, smoking policies, costs and fees. Be sure to read the agreement carefully before signing and returning to the owner/manager.
Step 4: Make Final Payment
Payment policies will vary from rental to rental – but it is common practice to require payment in full prior to your arrival date. Submit all payments due per your vacation rental agreement to avoid losing your reservation and deposit.
Step 5: Check In & Enjoy!
You have arrived! Your host has answered all of your questions about directions, fun things to do and see, and you are now kicking back in your vacation rental. Have a great time – and enjoy the extra space and comfort that you just can’t find at a hotel.
Final Considerations…
Different owners and managers have different ways of doing things. Don’t hesitate to ask the questions that are important to you when planning your vacation. Be sure to use your common sense when sending payments and always use a credit card when possible. The process of renting a vacation home may seem a little daunting, but it is actually pretty darn easy – and once you stay at a vacation rental – you will most likely never turn back.
