If you’re looking for a crowded lake with noisy neighbors, this isn’t the place for you.

The Butternut Lakeshore cabin is located on a peaceful expanse of wooded scenery. You won’t find any clutter here. As soon as you drive down the long winding driveway, you’ll probably start to feel the stress of the city melt the moment you step foot in the cabin.

Before you are greeted by the caretaker, take a few minutes to adjust your senses to the peace and quiet of this weekend getaway. You will find that every bedroom has fresh linens ready to go. The hot water has already been turned on and in the colder months, the heat is toasting up your bed.

This well-preserved log home was built in 1934 by two lumberjacks. It has 1,200 feet of lake frontage on a 5 acre parcel of land surrounded by lake, woods, peace and quiet.

A bald eagle nests in a tall pine tree on the point of this property. As you have your morning coffee on the dock, she will be about 80 yards to your left watching over you. If you’re lucky you will see her out flying around with her young one.

Feel free to tie your boat or jet ski to the two-slip pier. The water is clear and refreshing. Anglers might even land a record-setting muskie that common to this area.

Four bedrooms will sleep up to 12 people upstairs. Downstairs you will find a spacious living room with two couches plenty of seating and a massive stone and mortar fireplace. The dining area has a large custom table, bench and single chairs to feed a hungry crowd. There is plenty of counter space for your picnic preparation, complete with a full sized refrigerator and electric range.

After a long day or especially early morning, refresh yourself in a finished shower.

There is a classic Weber grill to cook your catch so be sure to bring a little charcoal. We won’t blame you if you would rather catch a nap first in the hammock under the relaxing shade.

Reservations are becoming quite popular so be sure to book yours well in advance of your stay.

We hope you’ll enjoy your second stay, too. As much as those who are choosing to plan their family events for years to come, we would be glad have you enjoy as many memories as our family has.

The kitchen has most all the things that you will need. Bedding is privided for all the beds.

All the bedrooms are located on the second story, which include a large hall and a full bath.
